Adventure Games

Adventure games are often sought after by purist gaming individuals, those who want a storyline and a non-timed game in which they are free to explore and slowly conquer new depths. In an adventure game while there may be small sections that require action gaming skills, the game is based more around a plotline that you continue to build towards the more you complete levels or goals.

Much like any genre of PC games, adventure games can be either extremely simply or extremely tricky- nuanced depending on which type you prefer and where you are looking for them.  Some popular PC adventure games that are family friendly include the Build-A-Lot series, Fabulous Finds, and Mystery PI. These are typically classified as the simple genres of adventure games for PC users.

On the other hand, a large part of adventure games are now very nuanced and based on films, TV shows, or novels.  In fact, a great deal of the adult adventure game community enjoys playing anime adventure games that look more like novels than anything else, but include information and endings that alter depending on how you complete the game. Of course, large adventure PC games are often based on the current environment of films with such as Terminator, X-Men, and other fantasy films inspiring many of the most popular web adventure games.

From the flip side, many adventure games such as Final Fantasy and Myst have actually inspired movie films which are just another example of how strong of a role pop culture plays in adventure games.
